An extremely rare French presentation sword with a curved single-edged blade inscribed "HONNEUR AU GENERAL LAFAYETTE" and the other side with "HONNEUR ET PATRIE" and decorated with engraved floral patterns, flags, and other military regalia. Gilt brass hilt with fine sculpted floral and scroll designs, feathered 1-branch guard, a wire wrapped leather grip (with some loss of leather), and a laurel wreath engraved Phrygian helmet pommel. The scabbard is black stitched leather with gilt brass fittings.
