An exquisite French Empire gilded bronze mantel clock. Depicting the beautiful goddess Aphrodite riding along the waves in a chariot from a shell into which swans are harnessed. A fantastic fish splashes nearby. In her hand, the goddess holds an apple, awarded to her by Paris as the most beautiful of the goddesses. The curl of the shell serves as the dial of the watch with embossed Roman numerals and thin bronze hands. The whole composition is mounted on a rectangular pedestal, decorated with a flower garland with ribbons and a decorative cornice. Mounted on legs decorated with relief.
