An antique French Renaissance gold ecu dor au soleil coin was minted during the reign of King Francis I, 1515 to 1547. On the obverse, it features the sun above the shield with the coat of arms of the kings of France with three fleur de lis and the legend Francis by the grace of God, King of France in Latin, while the reverse shows the floriated cross. Weight: 3.36 gr., 0.118 oz.
