An Indian hand-forged axe with a bow-shaped steel blade engraved with decorations. The blade is fixed on a steel shaft surmounted by a spike and ends in a ball terminal. The ceremonial axe is based on the traditional pharetri associated with the Khond peoples indigenous to central, Eastern, and Southern parts of India. 19th century.
