Lot 359:
A steel-mounted gold koftgari Persian warhammer. A scarce type designed for braking through helmets and lighter armor. Forged steelhead of a thorn shape to one side and long strong hook to the other all inlaid with gold koftgari. Mounted on its original fabric-covered wood shaft with two large iron bolsters decorated en suite with the blade. Circa 19th century.
Dimensions: L: 24 5/8 in., (62.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good.
