A Rajput dhal shield of a circular form made of buffalo leather, with four domes cast of bronze, painted with a court scene that depicts four horseback riders accompanied by two servants, and four dignitary figures around a central face. On the back, quilted trim under leather and iron fasteners for the handle. India, 19th century.

Condition: Very good overall, minor paint chips.
