Lot 370:
A Qajar period steel ceremonial mace with a silver and copper inlay as Farsi inscriptions on the top. The ox-headed mace is associated with the heroes of the Shahnama (Book of Kings). The mace reproduces the hero Bahram Gur’s weapon made in memory of the cow that nursed him.
Dimensions: L: 34 1/2 in., (87.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good with slight wear.
