Sabatino de Angelis (Italian, b. 1838), a Grand Tour bronze sculpture depicting a fallow deer, after an antique Pompeian sculpture, attached to a rectangular bronze base. Inspired by the discovery of two deer in the ruins of the Villa of the Papyri, a private house in the ancient city of Herculaneum. Circa 1890.
Dimensions: H: 9 in., (23 cm.)
Condition: Very good original condition with a nice bronze patina throughout.
