Tempera on wooden Russian Orthodox icon depicting Our Lady of Hodegetria. Decorated with gilding, silvering, and inlays. This type of icon originates from Byzantium. Jesus’s right hand is raised in a sign of blessing, and his left hand is holding a folded scroll. Mary’s right hand reverently points to the child. In the upper part of the icon, Christ is depicted seated on the throne surrounded by angels.Tempera on wood Russian Orthodox of St. Sergius of Radonezh. In his left hand, the saint holds a folded scroll, a characteristic detail for the iconography of spiritual teachers, tutors, or founders of monasteries. The right hand is raised in a blessing gesture. At the top of the icon is an image of a cherub with six red wings. Decorated with gilding.Late 19th – early 20th cc.

Condition: Very good without visible sign or restoration.
