Gustav Klingert, Moscow, Russia, 1899-1908, cased set comprising a lidded teapot and coffeepot, a sugar bowl with a lid and a creamer. Each piece is decorated with polychrome cloisonne enamel stylized flowers and scrolling foliage patterns on a gilt silver ground. Hallmarked with an 84 silver standard with a kokoshnik facing left and the Cyrillic maker’s mark "GK.’ Gustav Gustavovich Klingert (1836-1921) was a Moscow merchant, manufacturer and homeowner who founded a silverware factory in 1865. The factory produced silverware and carried out special orders, including the production of coronation dishes; its products collected medals at international exhibitions in London and Edinburgh in 1886, Paris, 1889, 1890, Chicago, 1893, and Antwerpen, 1894. Since 1905, when jewelry production was also organized, the Klingert factory became known as the Gold and Silver Jewelry Factory.
