Konstantin Ivanovich Rudakov (1891 – 1949), black chalk on paper drawing, an illustration for the novel of Guy de Maupassant depicting a standing nude woman wearing shoes. Apparently unsigned. Konstantin Ivanovich Rudakov was a Russian graphic artist and watercolorist. Author of color lithographs and watercolors for numerous literary works. Studied at the Academy of Arts (1913 – 1922) under D.N. Kardovsky, studied in the private studio of V.E. Savinsky, for some time also visited the New Art Workshop, where taught B. M. Kustodiev, E. E. Lansere, M. V. Dobuzhinsky. With illustrations of the novels by E. Zola and Guy de Maupassant, Rudakov entered the history of book graphics, although his works for the works of Russian classics are no less famous – "Eugene Onegin" (1934), L. N. Tolstoy’s novel "War and Peace" (1941 – 1948).

Condition: Good overall, there are rips and tears along the edges and corners.
