Leonid Purygin, (Russian Soviet, 1951 – 1995), mixed media on paper painting "The meeting of artists Purygin and Sundukov in the USA" Signed in Russian and dated on verso: "Lenya Purygin Genius from Nara, 1990 10" Matted and framed.Leonid Purygin was a Russian Neo primitivist artist. He relies on the language of icon painting and the artists of the Northern Renaissance, Jan Van Eyck, Bosch, use the techniques of folk crafts, sometimes referring to the polyptych format. In compositions he creates a fantasy world, accompanying his visions with texts.
