Konstantin Alexievitch Korovin (Russian, French, 1861 – 1939), oil on canvas laid on board painting "Espanola by night." Signed by the artist lower left. Housed in an original French hand-carved polychrome Art Nouveau frame with an attached metal plaque inscribed: "Constantine KOROVINE (1861 – 1939) Espanola by night." In 1888 Korovin traveled with Mamontov to Italy and Spain, in connection with preparatory works for "Carmen" in Mamontov opera.Konstantin Korovin was a Russian painter, theater artist, teacher, and writer. Academician of Painting (since 1905). The paintings of Konstantin Korovin are kept in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, in museums and private collections around the world.
