Alexander Zhitomirsky, an original propaganda photographic collage. Signed and dated by the author lower right "A.ZH. 1948", printed by the author in 1980. The collage depicts an elegantly dressed dog standing on two feet and a man clutching a whip in his fist. A one-dollar emblem can be seen in the background.Alexander Zhitomirsky (1907-1993) was a Soviet and Russian illustrator and graphic designer. He is mostly known for his propagandistic photo collages and is considered a key figure in the development of political photomontage.
