This is a very unusual specimen and the largest of its type that we ever had available for sale. This Late XIX – early XX century Caucasian dagger (kindjal) has a blade with one decentered fuller on each side with Arabic inscription above the fuller. It measures 27 1/2 in, (70 cm.). The handle is of a characteristic form constructed of two polished horn scales fastened to the tang by two silver domed niello-finished rivets, and one flat rivet.

The overall length of this dagger is exactly the size of a Roman gladius sword.

L: 33 3/4 in., (85.5 cm.)

Condition: Very good with a small chip on one of the cutting edges. Minor chips on the grip scales. Expected signs of wear on the scabbard.
