AUCTION 43: ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOR
Lot 222:
A large Caucasian dagger (qama) with a double-edged pointy blade with a single groove on both sides. There is an Arabic inscription along the central groove on the front side of the blade. Wooden scabbard covered in black shagreen lather, the scabbard terminates with a steel ball. The handle is made of two carved scales fastened to the tang by two steel rivets decorated with gold koftgari work.
Late 19th – early 20th cc.
L: 24 in., (61 cm.)
Condition: Good overall, scabbard shows partial leather lost.
