AUCTION 43: ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOR
Lot 377:
A pair of French flintlock pistols with round smoothbore barrel app. 18 mm cal. The octagonal breech part is inlaid with brass. The lockplates and triggers are decorated with fire gilt. The mounts are made of hammered and engraved brass. The stocks are decorated with brass inlay.
Ca. 1790.
L: 15 3/4 in., (40 cm.)
Condition: Good action, one ramrod is missing a horn tip, the barrels have been cleaned, one pistol has the handle brass mounts partially repaired, and the stell lockplates and triggers have the gilding partially lost.
