AUCTION 45: ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOR
Lot 152:
A finely made Indo-Persian pesh-kabz dagger with an exquisitely carved zoomorphic handle and gilt mounts set with small stones. The stylized handle may represent an Indian dragon or possibly a tiger and is decorated down its back by fine foliate carving. The scabbard is a wooden core wrapped with red fabric and is finished by a florally engraved and gilt chape, as well as wire stitching.
L: 15 in. (38.1 cm.);
Condition: Very good overall, with some light pitting on the blade and some discoloration on the scabbard.
