AUCTION 45: ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOR
Lot 240:
A 19th century French court sword inscribed with the maker’s mark ”L. Carre a Paris’. The handle of the sword is finely decorated with glass ”gemstones’ and is made primarily of bronze, which has been decorated with filigree in low relief. The triangular blade is in fair condition, with some staining and pitting throughout and a larger pit a few inches from the base of the blade.
L: 33 1/2 in., (85 cm.)
Condition: Blade has some staining and pitting throughout and a larger pit a few inches from the base of the blade. The guard is slightly loose. There are a few stones missing from the handle.
