AUCTION 45: ANTIQUE ARMS AND ARMOR
Lot 278:
An American-made brass-knuckle trench knife from 1918. The handle is marked ‘L. F & C 1918’ indicating manufacture by Landers, Frary & Clark, a housewares company based out of Connecticut that produced five million trench knives for the U.S. government during WW1. One of the knuckle guards is missing in this example, though the stub appears to have been sanded down after the fact to ensure safety and comfort in continued use.
L: 11.5 in., (29.2 cm.)
Condition: The handle is missing one knuckle guard. The surface of the blade is lightly rusted.
