A pair of Tunisian carriers by Marcel Debut. One of the figures carries two jugs of water, the other one carries a basket and holds out a fruit. Signed "Debut" on the base. Both figures have gilded plaques inscribed "Prix de Rome".
Marcel Debut (1865-1933) was a French painter and sculptor. He exhibited at the Salon in 1833.
H: 12 1/2 in., (31.8 cm.)
Condition: Very good overall. Bases slightly warped. Some accumulated dust in the basket.
