Evgeny Mikhnov-Voitenko, (Russian, 1932 – 1988), abstract Nonconformist watercolor on paper painting "Composition #111," 1981. Titled and dated on the backside. Provenance: The Tabakman Collection, was purchased from the artist’s family in 1998.

Note: Yevgeny Mikhnov-Voitenko was one of the most important representatives of the Leningrad unofficial art of the 20th century, widely known for his series of works Tubes. Now works from the Tubes series are in the Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Zimmerli Museum USA, and in many private collections.
