Lot 21:
An Ancient Roman bronze mirror featuring a small, flat, circular body and a short tanged handle with a column motif at the top of the handle.
These items were highly valued by individuals of Ancient Rome on account of the importance given to appearance and grooming. They were often displayed in public spaces, such as the baths, so that everyone had access to them.
Ancient Rome – 1st century AD – 1st century BC.
H: 6 7/8 in., (17.5 cm.)
Condition: Good overall. Oxidation throught especially along the edge and handle. Dents and chiping in places. See photos for reference.
