Lot 235:
A French hunting dagger of the late 18th or early 19th century, with a ribbed and tapered ebony handle affixed to the tang by three metal rivets, parts of the rivets now missing. The straight blade has a flattened back and was adorned with engraving, some of which is still extant.
France, 18th/19th Century.
L: 23 5/8 in., (60 cm.)
Condition: Good overall. The blade is slightly pitted and aged.
