This jambiya is of Turkish design with a straight blade that curves at the end before the point. The scabbard and I-shaped hilt are wrapped in brass plating decorated with images of various birds resting or nesting in tree branches. A single fuller runs down the length of the blade on both sides.
Ottoman Empire, 18th/19th Century.
L: 14 1/2 in., (36.5 cm.)
Condition: Good with minor signs of wear to the scabbard.
