This Spanish dagger, or Daga, is an example of a dagger made in Albacete, Sapin. The hilt is classic Albacete style with pierced brass end caps and a bulbous mid-grip of carved bone with decorative brass inserts. The blade is double-edged with a raised medial ridge through to the tip. There are faint floral motifs and Spanish wording on each side of the blade surface.
Spain, 19th Century.
L: 10 1/4 in., (26 cm.)
Condition: Good. The blade tip is chipped off. The sheath is missing the top brass plate and the leather and wood are worn/chipped at the top.
