A Model 1822 light calvary officer’s saber from the national arms factory in Châtellerault, France. The blade’s spine is engraved in French with the manufacturer’s mark, the date May 1870, and the model number ("Manufacture Nationale de Châtellerault – Mai 1870. Cavalerie Légère – Modèle 1855"). The hilt is of bronze with laurel frieze decoration and a horn handle.

Condition: Very good overall. Subtle signs of oxidation in the handle. The scabbard shows signs of rust throughout.
