Lot 365:
A nicely crafted sabre from Continental Europe with an intricate lion-headed pommel and florally engraved knuckle bow and guard, all in silver. The blade is of the usual shape for a sabre and has a single wide fuller on each side. The grip is of either wood or horn, carved and blackened. The black leather scabbard is mounted with silver fixtures.
Continental Europe – 19th Century
L: 36 in., (91.4 cm.)
Condition: Some surface rust throughout the blade. Minor wear to the grip. Some oxidation of silver. Scabbard has some dents and staining on metal fixtures, and some wear to leather.
