Lot 382:
A shashka sword of the Kuban Cossack Army bearing their etched initials "KKV" in a cartouche on one side and ZOF (Zlatoust Arms Factory) on the other. The hilt of a characteristic eared forn is made of carved polished horn. The sheath is made of wood covered in stitched brown leather.
Late 19th-early 20th Century.
Provenance: Private collection in New York.
L: 35 1/4 in., (89.5 cm.)
Condition: Blade is in fair condition with pitting in various places. Scabbard leather is well-worn.
