An Ottoman kilij sword with a watered blade decorated with gold Arabic inscriptions. The blade shows a pronounced rib decorated with gold inlay. The blade widens toward its tip forming a yalman. The scabbard and hilt are covered with incised corals and turquoise stones.
Trabzon, Turkey, 19th century.
L: 35 3/5 in., (90 cm.)
Condition: The kilij appears to be in excellent condition considering its age. Very minor signs of wear. The corals and gold inlay on the blade are very well preserved.
