Oriental Shamshir sword. A single-edged curved blade with decorative gold inlay on both sides, running down nearly the full length of the blade. The hilt and the scabbard are of a chased silver metal frame decorated with birds and foliage—embellishments of coral and turquoise cabochons on the pommel, crossguard, and scabbard’s mounts.
Turkey, 19th century.
L: 38 3/4 in., (98.5cm.)
Condition: Excellent condition. The blade is very slightly loose.
