A 19th Century Cavalry officer’s percussion pistol, possibly originating from Turkey. The wooden full stock has brass end caps, a lanyard ring, and a trigger guard. The integral ramrod is swivel-mounted ensuring that it could not be dropped or lost when mounted troops reloaded in the saddle. Fine lock and action with a rounded percussion cap and flat lockplate. The lockplate features two segments of Arabic script.

Turkey, 19th Century.
L: 14 3/4 in., (37.5 cm.)
Condition: Good overall. Rust on metal in places. The action fully functions. The lanyard ring is very loose. Wooden stock replaced.
