AUCTION 50: ANTIQUE MILITARIA, FALL 2024
Lot 457:
A percussion pistol with lockplate from Fortschau Armatur-Werk in Bavaria, an important firearms manufacturer from 1689 through 1801. This example appears to have been a flintlock converted to percussion in the first half of the 19th century. There are French or Belgian markings on the barrel and tang.
There is expected wear from age and use, though the mechanism functions well. The ramrod is missing.
Germany, 19th century.
L: 14.25 in., (36.5 cm.)
