Pair of Art Deco Cubist vases made of black glass and decorated with etched and patinated abstract lines. Designed by Anatole Riecke for ‘La Coupole Brasserie’ in Paris. Signed by the artist on one of the sides.

Footnote: La Coupole Brasserie is a famous brasserie in Montparnasse, Paris opened in 1927 by Ernest Fraux and Rene Lafon. Many artist and intellectuals frequented the Brasserie, including Jean Cocteau, Alberto Giacometti, Josephine Baker, Man Ray, Louis Aragon, Elsa Triolet, Pablo Picasso, Simone de Beauvoir, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Marc Chagall.
