Boris Sveshnikov, two pencil and ink on paper drawings depicting human figures in fields. Both of the drawings are numbered (possibly dated) ’70’ on the verso.
Note: Boris Petrovich Sveshnikov (1927-1998) was a Russian Nonconformist painter, graphic artist, and book illustrator. Refers to unofficial Soviet art. In 1946 he was repressed for anti-Soviet propaganda. Rehabilitated in 1956. Belongs to the generation of the sixties. He worked for Goslitizdat and created illustrations for books by Goethe, E. T. A. Hoffmann, H. K. Andersen, the brothers Grimm, M. Maeterlinck, K. G. Paustovsky, J. Soderberg, T. Moore, J. Vrchlitsky and other writers. One of the largest and most authoritative representatives of the unofficial art of the 1950s to 1980s.
