Eugene Laurent, a pair of highly detailed gilt-bronze sculptures depicting a woman flowering a plant and a man playing his flute for a bird. Both figures are dressed in elaborately decorated traditional Japanese attire. Signed ‘E. Laurent’ on the bases.
Eugene Laurent (1832-1898) was a French sculptor and a regular participant in the Salon of French artists.
