Alexandre Yakovlev (1887-1938), a print-on-paper drawing depicting a sitting African woman, applied in various places with ink to enhance the effect. Inscribed lower left. Matted, set in woven matting. Has additional inscriptions on the verso.

Alexandre Evgenevich Yakovlev was a Russian and French painter and graphic artist. He is mainly known for the works he produced during his expeditions to Mongolia, China, Japan, the Sahara desert and Equatorial Africa.
