The bronze plate depicts in high relief the four-armed Hindu deity Virabhadra, the personification of warlike rage, whose cult is especially widespread in the Deccan, India. In the hands of the deity, various attributes are depicted, including a sword and a shield. The lower part shows miniature figures of Daksha with a goat’s head and Sati. There is an oval through a hole under the left hand of Virabhadra, and a handle is attached to the back of the plate.
Dimensions : 9 x 6 in. (23 x 15 cm.)
Condition : Good overall with expected signs of wear and patina
