Cardboard case for a sword presented for the Spanish Expedition to Captain Marquis Gonzague De Serans of the 11th Cuirassier Regiment by the Secretary of the French Mission in Lisbon in 1828. Two stickers on the top one with the Coat of Arms and another with dedication inscription "EXPEDITION D’ESPAGNE Epee d’honneur offerte par le Gouvernement Portugais au Capitaine Marquis Gonzague de Serans du 11 Regiment de Chasseurs a Cheval / Secretaire de la Mission Francaise a Lisbonne 1828" Expédition d’Espagne or The Hundred Thousand Sons of Saint Louis was a French army mobilization in 1823 by Louis XVIII, to help the Spanish Royalists restore King Ferdinand VII of Spain to power. Sword presentation case only, no sword included in this lot.
