A Russian bronze sculpture depicting a man and woman riding in the back on sleds modeled by E. Lanceray. Lansere Evgeny Aleksandrovich (1848- 1886) – master of sculpture. Born in a French family who settled in Russia. Educated at the University of St. Petersburg, at the Faculty of Law. Considered to be one of the best masters in the second half of the 19th century. During his short life, Lansere created about 400 works, the main part of which are genre scenes depicting horses, Russian triples, sports, hunting, historical and military subjects. Casting by N. Stange. Stamped on the base with both names. Ca. late 19th/early 20th Century
