It is believed that the form of this religious object emphasizes the role of the abbot or bishop as a shepherd for his flock. This motif is also supported by the theme of the sculptural composition inside Crozier – the shepherd brings the lamb to the infant Jesus and the Virgin Mary. The gilt-silver final is richly decorated with carved figurines, set with smooth green stones, The carved figures depict the group of 12 apostles. Total weight: 73.4 oz., 2080 gr.
