A Napoleonic Era Silver-plated tray with an engraved cipher ‘N’ and Imperial Bees. When Napoleon Bonaparte made himself the Emperor of the French in 1804 he replaced the French Royal fleur-de-lees with his choice of symbol, the Bee. This Bee symbol was most commonly seen on items of civilian usage but also appears on some military items. Stamped on the back: 328914 and 229.
