An antique Russian gilt silver and niello circular snuff box. The lid is decorated with the medal by Timofey Ivanov (Russian, 1729-1803) portraying Empress Catherine the Great and encircled by the inscription in Russian: B.M YEKATERINA II IMPERAT. I SAMODERZH. VSEROSS [Yekaterina II, Empress, and Czar of All Russia]. After 1763. Weight: 5.7 o., 162 g. Ref.: Spleneurs de Russie, Mesee du Petit Palais, 1993, p. 172.
Dimensions: D: 3 1/4 in., (8.2 cm.)
Condition: Good overall with a small dent on the lid, the niello is well preserved
