The hilt is zinc based with wooden grip wrapped with leather and wound with twisted brass wires. Cross guard is stamped on the underside "H.K.Kfb. Nr. 21" a rare marking of a unit or airport. Nickel plated blade marked "SMF Solingen" with Regimental marking, steel scabbard covered in blue pebbled leather, with silvered steel fittings secured with screws. The aluminum suspension chain with clip marked "Ges. Gesch. OLC".
