William Frederick Wright, London, 1926, strling box with 19th c. guilochhe enamel and rose cut diamonds. Originally commissioned as a mourning piece from the Georgian period, the silversmith, William Frederick Smith, custom made the vermeil oval box which is engine turned in a faux basketweave pattern, to hold the mourning piece, the exterior of which is cobalt blue guilloche enamel, surrounded by pearls (some of which have been replaced with faux pearls) in a handwrought gold setting (tested for 10K), the center illustrates the letter "M" in rose cut diamonds, the interior reveals the remnant of a sepia painted mourning tree on the rim of the concave glass, which is surrounded by white and cobalt blue enamel. The interior is featuring a portrait depicting 17th century gentleman. Weight: 5.57 o., 158 g.
