A French Guard Du Corps regulation sword of the 19th century issued by one of the two major government manufacturers: Klingenthal. Marking on the spine of the blade of a trooper Model 1822 Light Cavalry sword issued May 1824. Blade is decorated with engraving on both sides: GUARDES DU CORPS DE MONSIEUR with fleur-de-lilies and coat of arms on one side and Royal crest with coat of arms on the other. Gilt-bronze guard and pommel, wooden grip is spiral-wrapped with twisted copper wire.
