A German officer’s shortsword with gilt-bronze hilt with cast elements featuring a fluted melon-shape pommel and quillon block, straight quillons. Symmetrical shell guards are canted away from the blade. Grip is spiral-wrapped with twisted copper wire. Steel blade is of flattened lozenge section, tapers to the point, engraved decoration on the blade.
