A British 1831 pattern Mameluke (the ruling military caste of Ottoman Egypt until 1811) sword. The blade is decorated with etching featuring the cipher of King George V. Stitched leather scabbard with originally gilt brass mounts. Carved grip scales complete with original knot.
Dimensions: L: 37 1/2 in., (95.5 cm.)
Condition: Very good with original gilding mostly lost
