Lot was removed from auction
In thick engraved silver mounted finished with niello of characteristic Dagestan style, with single-edged curved blade of a Persian shamshir form, with zoomorphic pommel and cross guard engraved and nielloed in suite and a chain connecting pommel and quillion. A round cartouche at the center of the cross guard features Arabic inscriptions. Wooden scabbard is covered in black shagreen leather, mounted in thick silver. Original silver-mounted leather strap. Ca. 1880.

Condition: Very good, scabbard leather has been repaired
