The ceramic anthropomorphic vessel perfectly illustrates the art of the Mangbetu tribe which developed in the first quarter of the 20th century. The shape of the vessel is in a very organic way take on a human shape. The figure is decorated with an ornament that covers the whole body. The position of the head and posture gives the figure a proud and aristocratic look.

Condition: Good with small chipped rims
